Touring Car MastersLast night saw MB Motorsport return to the feared New York curcuit that saw a disasterous run of luck for the MINI challenge opener. It was looking much of the same to start with, as once again only racelegend MB1 could make the grid after a personal problem caused sgt jigglymoobs to make a last minuite withdrawal. Despite this bad fortune, racelegend was still confident after a good stint in friday practice prooved the car had potential around the treturous city curcuit. Qually prooved to follow suit with racelegend putting the 5th row back overall and on pole for lobby B. More promising news caem when the team realised they were the second fastest Audi.
On a high from his pole grabbing qualification the MB Motorsport #26 driver was keen for the race start and all went well of the start, holding of Rouge into the first chicane and round the double left hander as carnage broke loose behind.
Except distracted by the fast charging rouge and caught out on cold tires, 'legend ran wide through the second chicane clipping the barrier, he managed a half-save only to end up sideways on to the rest of the pack as it tiptoed round him.
Left to creep back to the pits suprisingly not at the back of the pack racelegend thought that was it. The MB Motorsport crew managed a quick turn around, getting him out just infront of rich who had lead him into the pits. Only to tap the car on the double left hander the following lap.
The rest of the race was left to fight out amoungst the back of the field, avoiding being lapped by the leaders. 5th place in lobby and 13th overall. not great after the potential but satisfactory after the miss-haps. The city was to take more prisoners yet!

Race two was to see and nervous start in the mid pack and a cautious racelegend navagated the spewing competitors up to third who fell at the city curcuits peril. confident of a better performance than race one he strived on.
After sustaining more damage and a small battle with rich, racelegend managed 4th, 12th overall and with the prospect of a reverse grid race 3, hopes still fairly high of some success.

Unfortunately the reverse grid did not play in favour of the berkshire based driver and he had to settle with starting from the 3rd group of cars and a 21st place grid slot. Undettered though he managed to keep a clean nose and pick of the cars one by one, aided by the safety car and good restart to a healthy lead over the other drivers.
So much so to finish the day with a 1st place in c lobby and 15th overall!!!! something the team thoroughly deserved.
This left the #26 driver with a 15th place overall and a satisfying 83 points for the team.
